Stress….

The confusion created when the mind overrides the body’s basic desire to choke the living shit out of some asshole who desperately needs it.

So after a year of driving my Hybrid car in the HOV lane in the I-95 corridor, I finally get a ticket because the IDIOTS in the Virginia State Legislature can’t get their heads out of each other’s asses long enough to realize that discouraging people from bying hybrid and low-consumption vehicles is political suicide in this day and age.

I mean, during a time when a percentage of every dollar spent on gas goes right into the hands of the very people we’re in Iraq ostensibly trying to fight a war with, does it make sense to go out in public and tell people, “no, we really think you should be discouraged from doing anything that not only helps the environment, but helps the US reduce it’s dependance on foreign oil, something that even the cult-leader-in-chief says is one of his goals.

So which is it?

I’m planning a pretty spectacular argument for court.  I think I’ll eventually announce the date and time just to see if I can get any followers there. :)

(Most probably I’ll be disappointed and find only a fat-middle aged accountant there, but it is a nice thought)

More media crap

For once I’m going to defend them.

NBC made the very difficult decision to air the rantings of the lunatic that shot up Va. Tech on Monday, and of course, everyone is screaming for blood.

I applaud this decision by NBC, but maybe not for the reason they did it.

Everyone needs to see this.  Everyone needs to see what and who this guy is.  Maybe not to make his “manifesto” public,  (everyone has a manifesto, hell even I have one sometimes) but because it’s the only way we’re going to get better at identifying people who may be on the brink of this kind of meltdown sooner, before they have the chance to hurt anyone.

I understand the feelings of the families, and I’m sorry to have to respectfully disagree, but answer me this.

Wouldn’t your children have been better served had he been identified months ago when the first symptoms surfaced?  Wouldn’t your children have been better served had he actually been committed the first time it was attempted?  WOULDN’T YOUR CHILDREN STILL BE ALIVE TODAY if the college had been free to dismiss him at the first signs of untreated mental illness?

Thought so.

The media is viewing this horrible tragedy as a another ratings boost.

Pisses me off.  35 (or so) people died yesterday at the hands of a sick kid with easy access to guns.

Do we really need to continue pushing this “right to bear arms” bullshit any more?

Do people not realize that 99.9% of all illegal firearms started out as legal ones?  (that .1% consisting of “homemade” guns)

I have a friend who is a hard-core NRA member, and every time he gives me the “if you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns” line I want to puke.

At least if guns are outlawed the police will know which idiot to kill.

Bullshit.  Now the RNC is just being insulting.   Does anyone for half a moment believe this tripe?  I work in IT and know for a fact that the only way to truly delete an email is to purposefully remove *ALL* of the safeties.

Do you think any of their IT guys are going to get fired for this?  If so, I bet the store of what they were really told to do gets out.

I’m sorry but that man has left a 7 year slime trail behind him starting the day he fucked the country over by orchrestrating that fiasco in Florida.

Nothing would make me happier than to see that man get a 30 year prison sentence.  And real prison, not the “club fed” that most of his co-horts end up in.

Ok, so Britney isn’t as in the news but are Imus and Anna-Nicole are (again)

First off, it’s kind of hypocritical to bitch at Imus for being an insensitive asshole when that’s really what he’s been paid for all these years.  Get the fuck over it and grow some skin.  I’ll be you even money that the people he insulted weren’t listening to his show, they heard about it third hand.  We all know he’s racially and sexually insensitive, he’s spent years and years making that into a very promising career.

Secondly, I’m about sick to death of Anna-Nicole Smith.  There isn’t anything nice to say about her, so I won’t say anything at all.  But all this stink about her baby and Larry Birkhead being the father.  Big deal.  He obviously didn’t care enough to stick around when she was alive, but suddenly thinks he may manage to make a good father?  I think it’s more likely he thinks he’ll make a good millionaire.

To Larry.  Fuck off.  You’re a pathetic excuse for a human being if you would use your little baby girl to get rich.  It makes you the worst kind of whore.  If you want to prove to us that this isn’t true, announce publically that you’re giving up any and all claim to the Marshall Inheretance and are more than happy to just be a father.  Then, and only then, will we believe you’re not a slime-ball.

What’s worse, is that you’re most probably not going to see a fucking dime and then where will you be?  Stuck raising a child that you don’t really want, and she’ll probably end up turning out just like her mom.  Starving for attention and tripping all over herself to get it.

With all due respects to Robert Wuhl.

We’re all so obsessed with the stars and the filthy-famous.  Is it that somewhere in the back of our warped heads we want to be then?  Why would we want that?   Even I admit to following the Britney/Fed-Ex divorce and her subsequent loser boyfriends with my eyes glued to whatever web-page I happen to find them on.

I can understand wanting the money.  Hell I more than anyone would be very VERY happy with a seven-figure checking account and to run every month in the black.

But there is a big difference between filthy-rich and filthy-famous.   I think the true high-and-mighty are the people who don’t seek out the spotlight.  Maybe someone like Warren Buffett would fit that category.

Myself, I would be happiest to take my million bucks and vanish into obscurity.

In virginia we have this law that states that hybrid cars can use the HOV (High-Occupancy-Vehicles) lanes on I95 north, I395 into DC, and also on I66 and state route 267 (the Dulles Toll Road).  THe theory being that if a car gets three times the gas mileage of a regular car, (I guess with 12-17 being the average) then it deserves certain privleges, like not having to sit in traffic for hours on end.

I thought it was a great idea.  And for the longest time it created so much incentive to buy Hybrids that they couldn’t be had in the area.  (I got mine through a fluke of getting to the dealership the day they were unloading them)

Now the law has been amended to say that hybrid cars bought after July 2006 no longer have the right to use the I95/I395 corridor HOV lanes.

Why?  Because the people who carpool were complaining..  Not quite sure about what, they carpool lanes are not really more crowded than they used to be, and as such it didn’t really affect them.  I guess they figured that those who were inconvienenced by having to carpool to work shouldn’t be put out by those who were savvy enough to go out and buy a hybrid.

I say removing the incentives for people to buy hybrids, motorcycles, EV’s, etc. should be criminal.  Anything that increases our dependance on fossil fuels, thereby piping more and more money to the middle east, should be considered a terrorist act and dealt with accordingly.

That includes removing the incentives for Americans to buy highly efficient vehicles.
